The summer Galaxy Unpacked event is drawing closer, and rumors about the expected updates on the flagship devices are growing.

One aspect of foldable smartphones that Samsung is focusing on to improve its devices is weight. According to the latest rumors, this year the company might intend to produce a Galaxy Z Fold 6 that is lighter than the previous model and also thinner.

By making some modifications, the South Korean giant aims to create increasingly sophisticated devices to maintain its prominent position in an industry that has involved a significant number of companies in recent times.

Samsung aims for a lighter and thinner Galaxy Z Fold 6!

Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which weighs a total of 253 grams, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will weigh only 239 grams. The difference may seem minimal, but it is a crucial first step to reach and probably surpass in the future the milestone achieved by Vivo, whose Vivo X Fold 3 continues to be the company capable of producing the lightest foldable smartphone ever, weighing 219 grams.

Ice Universe, the leaker from whom the news originates, also claims that the changes will not only concern the aesthetic aspect and that Samsung will update the displays on its Galaxy Z Fold 6 by introducing an external panel of 6.3 inches and an internal display of 7.3 inches, both with significantly better resolution than the previous year's model.

It remains to be seen whether Samsung's much-discussed introduction of a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra in recent days will indeed correspond to reality and, if so, what details will make the unprecedented smartphone superior to the standard version.

Everything is quiet, however, regarding the Galaxy Z Flip 6 that will accompany the aforementioned devices. Almost certainly, Samsung will focus much of its efforts on improving the clamshell model to compete with the competition.
